Weekly song, hymn and recorded music suggestions and resources for worship - based on the Revised Common Lectionary. Suggestions are posted on Wednesday nights, usually a few weeks in advance of each Sunday.
Thank you for such thoughtful suggestions. One of my favorites, which speaks to both the l Kings and the Gospel readings, is "Dear Lord and Father of Mankind," a beautiful prayer by John Greenleaf Whittier. "Mankind" could be changed to, perhaps, "Us All" in order to render it inclusive. Here's a link: http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/d/e/dearlord.htm

Or you could use "Dear Father, Lord of humankind.
I've never dreamed (so far) of singing "God of Freedom, God of justice" to anything other than Rhuddlan.
For Psalm 42 I would also include MV 4, All Who Are Thirsty
